I'm a born and bred 49er fan. At my old job we did a football pool every year and I wouldn't bet against the Niners. Ever. Not even if they were playing the Super Bowl champs. It will never ever happen!

And we'd have a tie breaker which involved total scoring for the Monday Night game. I'd always bet 42....which was Ronnie Lott's number.

So yeah...you could say I'm a bit of a fan!

I think college football is better than the NFL. It seems more pure or something. :shrugs:

I love the NFL and college football! I always cheer for the Browns and OSU. I'm a bigger Browns fan than I am an OSU fan, but I like college football better overall (even though I am continually angered by the lack of a playoff system!)

This year, I'm pulling for the Browns to win five games and to not go more than two games without an offensive touchdown. Sadly, these are looking like lofty goals. They went the last seven games of last year without any offensive touchdowns and went the first 3.5 quarters of this year without any offensive touchdowns (they had a special teams touchdown and a defensive touchdown at the end of last year and a special teams touchdown in the 2nd or 3rd quarter of the first game this year).

Oh, and I really don't like the way Tressel coaches (which will get me booed if there are other OSU fans on here), but I'm still pulling for OSU to be Big Ten champs. I think it'll be a fight to the end with Penn State this year.

kim, i pick osu for the big 10 this year too. which hard for me to admit, since this is my first football season in a few years without having an osu alumn for a boyfriend, so i don't have to pretend to like them this year i just don't want psu to take it. i'm sick of joe pa.

I got really miffed when they quit allowing them to "celebrate" after touchdowns. Those guys were really entertaining and I didn't see that as "unsportsmenlike behavior" because when you win you should celebrate.

The commentators in the background drive me nuts.

Me too. I mean, I've seen some guy who really were a little unsportsman like in their celebrations... but most are harmless and just hilarious to watch!

Clemson Tigers!! My dad and I both graduated from Clemson. He went on a football scholarship but got injured during his third game and never played again. So basically I was a Tiger fan before I was born.

My dad wasn't and still isn't a sports guy. (He'd rather hunt.) He'll watch a game, but he just isn't into it. Even though I went to every high school game (I was in the band), I found my love of football when I went to college.

I actually grew up in tallahassee and lived two blocks down from Bobby Bowden, and went to countless FSU games, BUT my adult years were spent here in G-ville and you cant help but be caught up in the Gatormania here! I used to hate football when i was in middle school/high school because we only had one tv and my dad commandeered it for football only and I felt like that was so unfair.

Both my parents are LSU alum, and now I am too, so we are pretty hard core Tiger fans. I love love love LSU football (and college football in general).

Sy, my nephew got a recruiting letter from LSU the other day for baseball. He's a Junior and they were basically just telling him to keep them posted on his stats and whatnot but he was so excited to see LSU letterhead.

It wasn't an offer or anything but he's keeping in touch with them via email regarding his stats and they said in the letter that they would send someone to see him at one of his exhibitions. They sent a huge 2009 World Series Poster with the letter - he was VERY excited!!

I LOVE college football, and LOVE LOVE LOVE Ohio State. I am an OSU grad, and I love everything about that place.

Kim, I am actually so glad that you said that about Tressel. I cannot stand the way that that man coaches. It's becoming more and more obvious the more we lose big games that we have the talent to win. One of the sports writers had a great article about it as well. I know every OSU fan loves him, but not this one.

Sometimes I really wish I liked football, but I just can't get into it. I completely agree with cheeky though - I'd watch a game to stare at the QB's tush! I wish there was more to see for hockey players... there's just too much padding!

Now hockey is a game I just don't understand.

Hockey is so much better than football because its a game where you actually have to have endurance.

My mom gets super violent during hockey games... screaming, hitting, etc. I won't sit next to her.

I LOVE a good hockey fight too! The OHL is great because you get all the young guys who don't know how to deal with their rage yet so the fights are so much more aggressive.

Are there fights in football? I've never sat through more than 5 minutes of a game so I haven't seen any bare knuckle fighting.

Lil there are fights but its mostly pushing, and then a bunch of whistles blowing and yelling.

yeah, the fights are nowhere as amazing as in hockey.
