I need a good homemade mac and cheese recipe. I've scoured the internet, but I just can't seem to find one that looks like it might be good. People want to put onions, peas, carrots, and mustard into the stuff. I mean, it's just mac and cheese...
Sigh.
So... anyone have tried and true mac and cheese recipe that you are willing to share? *smile*
*batting my eyes*
*puppy dog eyes*
Please?

1I made one awhile back and it was really fantastic. I'll see if I can dig it up for you!
2OK. This was delicious. Verrrry rich!

(can get a little pricey with the fancy cheeses though - but well worth it!)
3Mmm, I've made that one Amy, it is delicious. I love Ina.
Star, if you want to keep the price down, swap the quantaties for the gruyere and cheddar (2 cups gruyere, 4 cups cheddar).

I LOVE this one! I recommend blending a few cheeses, I like to mix Gruyere, Asiago and a good old fashioned cheddar. But the recipe as written is also great.
6Enjoy!
Oh yes... I love cheddar. I'll have to use than in any mac and cheese recipe.
7I don't really have a recipe... I just add some cheez wiz, milk, and pepper until I like the consistency. It's what mommy did and what I still do.
8Star I've made something pretty similar to this recipe: http://thepioneerwoman.com/cooking/2009/04/macaroni-cheese/
Plus, the amount of food porn on Pioneer Woman's website is amazing.
9Roar - I just looked at your recipe and it looks really good - AND easy and more healthy than Ina's recipe. I might have my dinner problem solved!
10I love PW.
11I really like her "Not Your Grandma's Mac n Cheese" recipe too. But you don't want anything crazy in yours.
12I made this one from Cooking Light. Not the most decadent, but it is healthy!
