I love looking at family pictures. Either mine, my parents, my friends because I just love families and love seeing common traits that siblings and cousins have.
Like in my dad side of the family.. we all pretty much have a large circular shaped birth mark in one place our another. Both my dad and his sister have on in their back that they got from their father. In my mom's side, just about every one have what we call the famous "Carerre Eyebrows, Nose, and Temper" that we all inheritated from my grandmother which she got from her mother. It's one of the way to tell that we're related. Just look at the eyebrows and nose and you'll see and the temper will cement all remaining doubts.
While my sister and I escaped the nose, we certainly got the eyebrows and temper. Like if you look at the pictures I posted in my blog with my grandmother's pictures, especially the last one you'll see the famous Carerre feature in my cousins.
So what family traits do you have?
Religion
"Pantling legs" run in the women in my husband's mother's family.
They're pretty much straight up and down, with no shape.
Attitude runs in my family.
1I think it skips generations. I'm a crabby old broad like my grandmother.
My daughter is domestic, like my mother (who she never met, so I know it's genetics!).

My mother's child birthing hips that EVERY woman on Mom's side has.
The flat feet that run on my Dad's side of the family.
And both sides are insanely stubborn and opinionated. That didn't skip me either.
2Dad's side, The nose. It's Italian 100%. Got it.
Mom's side, thick thick hair. Got it.
3Pantling legs? I never heard of that.. So what exactly does that mean Laine?
Star and Syako.. lol
4Oh, sorry, "Pantling" is my MiL's maiden name. English, Luton area IIRC.

All of my siblings and me got my dad's nose.
6lol oh ok.
My sister and I we like to joke and argue that each look like the opposite parents. I know I favor my mom heavily but if anyone ask, I say I look exactly like my dad, just darker and my sister, you can't tell her that she doesn't look like our mom. Which reminds me that it's pretty funny how genetics work. I've seen siblings who looks just like twins and some who don't even look related at all.
My sister and I we look somewhat alike, most people can't tell if we're related out not when they first meet us. She's lighter and I'm darker. Her hair is wavy, and mine's curly. She's my mom's height with my dad's looks, and I have my dad's height with my mom's look and my brother is basically a younger and slightly darker version of my dad.
So do you guys look like your mom or dad more?
7Well my sis and I look very alike, but I think I look more like dad and she looks more like mom. I'll post a pic of me mom and dad, and tell me what you think.
8lol I think you look like you're mom Syako
9Yeah in this pic I think so too! But let me see if I can find a side by side with dad.
10Ok. Ignore the tears (we had just finished the father/daughter dance and my dad was weeping-so was I! That was a very new thing to me)
11I agree with Myst, sy. I think you look more like your mom.
People always think I look like my mom until they meet my dad. I look so much like my dad, my aunt (on my dad's side) and my grandma (on my dad's side). As far as specific traits, we have the same face shape, the same circles under our eyes, the same body type (short and naturally muscular), the same light blue eye color, the list goes on...
My nose looks kind of like my mom's; it is a mix, but it definitely looks more like my mom's nose than my dad's.
12My family we all look like "alike" in one way or another but we don't really have specific features that are family traits. Although my Dad, brother and I all have a couple of moles in almost the exact same spots lol.
But I would say the one commonality that we all share is our sense of humor, oh and we're all criers - we cry tears of sadness, tears of joy, tears of laughter and we really don't care who sees us do it. I guess in that sense we're all very passionate people as well, we feel things deeply.
13My dad and I also share our personalities, as do my mom and sister. They are bigger worriers and are more high-strung, but they are also much more organized. My dad and I are both messier/less-organized, but we are also more easy-going, "go with the flow" kind of people.
14nope Sy. I still say your mom.
With my sister, people always think I'm the older one because she's so short. I'm 171 cm tall and she's about 153 cm.
But temperament wise, I think we're all pretty easy going people but dont cross us. That's just a death wish
15People who know me think my kids look like me.
People who know my husband think they look like him.
Actually, by daughter looks like me, and my son like my husband.
16However, as I tell folks, all of us boring white-bread people look alike, so it's all the same anyway.

Sy you look more like your mom, but you have your dad's eyes.
Everyone says my sister and I look just alike, but we couldn't be more different. I know we have some mannerisms and a few similar facial features, but we don't look just alike. You can tell we are sisters though.
I look more like my mom and my sister looks more like my dad, but we both have a good mix of features from both parents. We both have my dad's chin. My driver's license photo at 16 looked exactly like my mom's senior photo. It was very, very scary how much we looked like the same person in those photos. I have my father's temperament and attitude. I always hear, you're so much like your dad when you do that or say that.
17I'd like to know who I get my extremely curly eyelashes from.
18From my dad I've got a muscular stature, dark thick hair, red skin tone and sweat verrrrry easily. I hate it! But i like being built fairly muscular.
From my mom I get pretty much any kind of ailment. Totally stinks, but I try to be proactive and prevent and take care of what I can before anything gets out of hand!
As for looking like either one I think I look more like my dad now, which is not a bad thing. When I was high school all the girls thought he was good looking. He still is, just older now.

19I got my green eyes from my dad, and most people think I look like him. Most people also think my kids look like me, but I'm not sure. My youngest sone has my nose, though.
Sy, great pics - you look gorgeous!

Oh! I also get my very wrinkly palms and bottoms of my feet from my mom. My daughter has them as well. But we don't have many wrinkles on our faces, and my mom is 73. I guess all the wrinkling went to our hands/feet....

I am an exact replica of my mom. I had a picture of my mom when she was in high school in my room (when I was in high school). My nephew told me that it was a good picture of me
22My sister looks more like my dad, but she and I look very much alike.
My oldest brother looks like my mom and me.
My other brother (who is still older than me, but younger than the oldest lol) looks like my dad's side of the family... not really like my dad, but more like his family. My dad inherited his father's Spanish looks and his mom is Irish. So my brother has more of the Irish look.
Big, distinct noses and olive skin. We've all got 'em.
23My mom and I have virtually the same voice. People mistake me for her and her for me all the time.
I think my mannerisms are more like my dad though...
Other than that, I'm the only one with green eyes, I'm the only one with blond-ish hair, and I'm the only one that's left handed. I'm the black sheep!
