I admit it: I'm a shameless coffee addict.
If it weren't for coffee, I would have fallen into a coma years ago.
I will probably still be running several months after I die, while the caffeine in my system gradually dimishes.
With that in mind, Consumer Reports has a comparison of coffee in their March issue.
The most expensive brew isn't necessarily the tastiest.
Coffee prices may not reflect flavor, a magazine finds.

Interesting! I'm sad to see that Allegro isn't listed.
I usually purchase that or go to a
local roaster.
1Very interesting! I just got my own coffee pot after Christmas, and my mom bought me some Coffee Fool stuff which is pretty tasty.
I wonder how they defined this. I know that coffee is different for everyone, like beer is, so one person's perfect cup may be too bitter for another.
2I will have to try the Caribou one. I don't like their coffee in the shops (I think it tastes burnt), but I'm guessing I could get better results making it myself.
3There's more info in the article at the link.
Personally, I'm a fan of Lion Coffee, especially Kona. yum!

However, hubby is a Folger's guy, so....

Yeah I don't like Caribou coffee from the stores either. I also don't like Starbucks from the store.
I'd love a store brewed list.
5btw, my husband will only drink Jacobs. It's so expensive and we can only buy it online or at a nearby Russian store, but it is all he will drink.
6I bet Dunkin' Donuts and McDonald's would both be towards the top.
McDonald's has surprisingly good coffee, imo.
7Whew, at least my husband is "cheap to keep".

the only coffee that I can stand is Tully's. They make some pretty good coffee.
9Once you roast your own beans, nothing else tastes as good. I look at coffee beans out of a plastic bag the way most people probably look at an egg salad sandwich from a gas station. So I guess I out-snob everyone! : )
10Lil k, I've had dunkin donuts coffee, but only the flavored kind. It was good, but so are most things when you add flavoring! Same with the coffee at Einstein's bagels. I like it, but only because it's vanilla hazelnut flavored or something.
I have tried McDonalds a few times (I love Egg McMuffins and treat myself to Mickey D's when I have to be somewhere super early) but it never tastes good to me. I wish it did.
11I only drink the coffee that has been on a special journey through monkey digestive stystems!

12I need to hit up McDs this week to take advantage of their free coffee all month.
13Pack some pepto to have with it! It's especially good at, ah, keeping you regular.
14I've heard about that coffee, amy! I think I saw about it on some Fabulous Life show on VH1 or something like that.
15Amy, ew! I could never drink that. I only drink coffee that has made that special journey through AMERICAN monkeys.
16And it IS expensive! I've had it, like... once.
17TrueSong, be careful. Al Sharpton will picket you!

Oops, over my head. Why?
19"And it IS expensive! I've had it, like... once."
Do you kiss your hubby with that monkey poo mouth?
20Well, luckily for him, that occasion was before we were together!
21
22lmao you ladies are cracking me up
23TrueSong, Just a reference to your phrase "American monkey":
"The Rev. Al Sharpton wasn’t satisfied with the partial apology he got from the New York Post over a “racially offensive” cartoon. And now he’s taking its parent company to the Federal Communications Commission.
"Earlier this week, the newspaper apologized to anyone who might have been offended by the image, which some say likens President Barack Obama to a violent chimpanzee gunned down by police in Connecticut."

And that's all I'll say here, this is not the group for anything even remotely political. Sorry if I muddied the water.

Sy, I didn't know they're giving away free coffee!
I'll have to
check that out tomorrow!
25can they give out free tea as well?
26Doubtful!
27I have a question... Is decaf really considered coffee? Just kidding. Seriously, I buy Eight O'Clock and Peets (which is my fave), and I also love chocolate raspberry. I can't imagine a day without java.

ccpdm -- many so-called decaf coffees out there contain about 10% caffeine!
29Really?!? I didn't know that. (Guess you can tell I don't have much exposure to decaf...) So, if a person isn't supposed to have caffiene, they'd better be checking the small print, huh?
